Paradise Toronto Comicon 2007 Guest List Rundown

*NOTE* As of May 4th, 2007, Darick Robertson, Mark Brooks, and Heidi MacDonald have also cancelled their apperance to this year's Paradise Toronto Comicon.
Last week, I said I was going to give a rundown on the Guest List for Paradise Toronto Comicon. Sure, you could just click the link to see the Guest List yourself, and not bother with this, or I could just plagarize it and post it here, but where's the fun in that? The fun is me writing the rundown for the Guest List, and giving my little bit about them. So, shall we begin? No? Tough, cause I'm gonna start.
Actually, before I start, Georges Jeanty was added to the convention. He is currently working on the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer Season Eight series.
Guests of Honour
MICHAEL GOLDEN - I'll be honest, I haven't followed any of his work in the past, nor do I follow anything now. I do have one book to get signed (Ocean #1, also signed by Warren Ellis, and Chris Sprouse). Hoping to get that done at Motor City Comic Con.
TERRY MOORE - Once again, I'll be honest, I haven't been following Strangers in Paradise, but I have read some, and my laziness is preventing me from reading the rest. Aside from that, I do enjoy his artwork, and I'm hoping to get a sketch from him.
MATT WAGNER - This man I'm hoping to see. I haven't followed any of the Grendel series, but I do want to check them out.
MARV WOLFMAN - Marv is the co-creator of the New Teen Titans, and Black Cat (an issue I'm hoping to get signed).
Special Guests
ADRIAN ALPHONA - Co-creator of the Runaways, a title which Adrian and the other co-creator, Brian K. Vaughan, left a few months back, and handed it off to Joss Whedon and Michael Ryan. Adrian is a very nice individual to meet, and a great artist.
KAARE ANDREWS - What may be Kaare's only convention appearance this year, recently completed Spider-Man: Reign, which has been compared to The Dark Knight Returns.
J. BONE - Currently working on The Spirit, with Darwyn Cooke. I'm definitely a fan of J. Bone, and am looking forward to seeing him again.
TALENT CALDWELL - Recently finished his run on the Gen 13 relaunch. Nice person to meet. Met him last year, looking forward to meeting him again.
SCOTT CHANTLER - Tek Jansen! Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen! Also, his creation, Northwest Passage. Not sure if the collected edition will be released by then, which I'm hoping to pick up.
DARWYN COOKE - I love this man's storytelling. DC: The New Frontier was fantastic, and The Spirit is just magnificent.
WES CRAIG - I can't say that I have or am following his work.
DAN DAVIS - Same thing here, but I do own a page of artwork that he has inked.
ED THE SOCK - Appearing once again, to pick up chicks and insult the rest of us. Awesome!
TOM FOWLER - I said it before, I'm not really a fan of his caricature style in the books I have, that he drew. Then again, it was Green Arrow, and I have my taste on who draws him good. And I'm not a Mad Magazine reader, so I haven't been following his work.
JUSTIN GRAY - It's too bad Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner cancelled their appearance this year, because some of the books I am bringing for Justin to sign, were also to be signed by either Jimmy, Amanda, or both.
TOM GRUMMETT - Not a fan of the Thunderbolts team he drew, but I did enjoy his work on Teen Titans. And if you check out the Heroes online comic, he did the artwork for #31.
NIKO HENRICHON - Pride of Baghdad rocked! Hoping to see him.
EVA HOPKINS - Co-writer of the upcoming Dark Ivory title, though I don't know much about it.
STUART IMMONEN - Taking over the artwork on Ultimate Spider-Man.
DALE KEOWN - Saw him back in November. Not sure if I'm going to see him again this time around.
KARL KERSCHL - Appearing at Silver Snail this weekend for Free Comic Book Day. Looking forward to his upcoming Teen Titans: Year One series.
ERIC KIM - There's something about the way Eric draws that amazes me.
JOSEPH MICHAEL LINSNER - Creator of Dawn, hoping to get myself something done by Linsner.
JOHN LIVESAY - Looking forward to getting my The Flash: The Secret of Barry Allen trade signed.
FRANCIS MANAPUL - Very talent Toronto artist that has worked on Witchblade, Tomb Raider, Necromancer, and is currently working on Iron and the Maiden.
CARY NORD - Conan artist, though I'm not a follower of Conan.
MICHAEL AVON OEMING - Writer of Omega Flight and many other projects. Artist of Powers, and several projects. Looking forward to meeting him.
RAMON PEREZ - Co-creator of butternutsquash, and one kick ass artist. Looking forward to his yet to be announced project.
MIKE PERKINS - Alternating artist on Captain America, though I don't have any of his issues. At least it's another signature to my Avengers: Finale.
DAVID PETERSEN - Mouse Guard creator. Hoping the collected edition is released before the con.
STUART SAYGER - Kick ass artist, but I doubt I'll have enough money left to get something done by him.
DAVE SIM - Cerebus creator, appearing once again at Paradise Toronto Comicon. Come see him Friday and Saturday.
MARK SPARACIO - Painter, who will have the prints of Claire Bennett (from Heroes) for sale, to benefit the Hero Initiative.
CAMERON STEWART - Appearing at The Beguiling this weekend for Free Comic Book Day. Looking forward to his next project, which I believe is the creator-owned title with Ray Fawkes, Apocalipstix.
THE SUICIDE GIRLS - What more can I say, that I didn't last time?
TY TEMPLETON - Appearing at Silver Snail this weekend for Free Comic Book Day. His issue of The Exterminators was just released this past week. He will be writing the upcoming Howard The Duck series.
J. TORRES - This man just keeps on writing. I'm really looking forward to his two issues of Wonder Woman, before Gail Simone takes over as the regular writer.
BILLY TUCCI - Creator of Shi. Not much more I can say here.
UDON ENTERTAINMENT - Not sure who's gonna hold the fort here. I don't remember many people, if anyone last year. Hoping that Alvin Lee will still be in Toronto by then, but he was supposed to fly back to Thailand this past week, I believe. Who knows? I know I don't.
CHIP ZDARSKY - Funny, funny man, who's book I still haven't picked up. (Chip, I'm sorry. I promise, I'll get it this weekend, if I find it). Chip will be appearing at The Beguiling this weekend for Free Comic Book Day.
Special Guests: Women of Comics
SHELLEY BOND - Editor at DC/Vertigo, so for all you people trying to get into the game, go see her.
CECIL CASTELLUCCI - Writer of the new DC/Minx line title, The P.L.A.I.N. Janes, with art by Jim Rugg.
SVETLANA CHMAKOVA - Creator of Dramacon. I'm not really a manga fan, so I don't read this.
DANIELLE CORSETTO - Creator of the hilarious webcomic, Girls With Slingshots. Love her work. Hoping to see her again.
WILLOW DAWSON - Local Toronto artist, who's work I don't actually follow.
TANIA DEL RIO - Artist of Sabrina The Teenage Witch. She did a Spider-Man/AraƱa book a while back, I forget the actual title.
JANET HETHERINGTON - Writer of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. I don't follow it.
JOAN HILTY - Editor at DC Comics, so for all you people trying to get into the game, go see her, too.
LIANA K - Co-host of Ed's Night Party, the beautiful Liana K. I wonder if she will be wearing any costumes this year.
MICHELE LAFRAMBOISE - I don't know anything about her work.
TARA McPHERSON - Tara is a fantastic artist, and I'm looking forward to see her.
ROBYN MOORE - Managing Editor of Abstract Studios (Strangers in Paradise).
PATRICIA MULVIHILL - Colourist of 100 Bullets and Loveless, two titles I don't follow.
CHRISTINE NORRIE - Hopeless Savage artist, and did a good portion of an issue of American Virgin. Hoping to see her.
EMILY POHL-WEARY - Writer of several different titles, unfortunately, none of which I read.
NICOLA SCOTT - One of the people on the top of my list to meet, Nicola Scott is currently kicking ass on Birds of Prey.
GAIL SIMONE - Writer of Birds of Prey, which she is leaving, to take over as regular writer of Wonder Woman.
MARIKO TAMAKI - Don't know anything about her.
DIANA TAMBLYN - She a cartoonist of several mini-comics.
RAINA TELGEMEIER - Artist of the Babysitter's Club. Something that's great for my little sister.
RENEE WITTERSTAETTER - She represents artists. She is currently the representative for Michael Golden. Last year, she was the rep for Arthur Suydam.
As for the rest of the guest list, there are several people on there that I am looking forward to meeting at the convention, but I'm just getting too tired of writing at the moment, so I'm just gonna leave this at that.

Well, you can scratch Darick Robertson and Mark Brooks off the list. Family obligations for both mean they can't attend and send their regrets.

Yea, I saw the updates on the website, I just haven't gotta around to the blog yet.
