Boughts and Thoughts - November 7th, 2007

First off, I start this by wishing my bro a Happy Birthday!

Second, I want to Thank Marvel Comics for changing their Canadian cover price, which went into effect today. So, Marvel's Canadian cover price dropped from $3.75CDN to $3.05CDN (for the standard $2.99 US priced comic). In addition to that, the membership discount that I have at Cyber City Comix also drops price down another 20%. So, the standard $2.99 US cover price Marvel comic, comes out to $2.44CDN +taxes ($2.78CDN).

Now, onto the books.

Astonishing X-Men #23 - Wow, Joss Whedon is really trying to make Cyclops the leader he should be. Being the sucker that I am, I'm actually excited about it! I love how they showed Cyclops telepathically make the plans (being linked to the rest of the team by Emma Frost).

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Eight #8 - Faith is in trouble! Damn cliffhanger endings...

Grimm Fairy Tales: Return to Wonderland #3 & 4 - Originally, I passed on issue 3, because I didn't remember if I bought issue 2 or not. Since issue 4 was out this week, I actually went to check if I had issue 2, which I did, so I picked up issue 3 today, with issue 4. Both were pretty good. I'm liking the Grimm Fairy Tales series.

Iron and the Maiden #4 - This was an action-packed issue. Definitely room for a sequel to this series.

New Avengers Illuminati #5 - More Skrulls revealed! This just gets me wondering, does this take place after World War Hulk?

Heroes HC to be picked up another time.

I think it does take place post-hulk war. . . . .im not sure, but I think it does. They make reference to the hulk, but its ambigious b/c it could've meant shooting him up into space. I think this happens after WWH.

Great news on your Cyber City discount!!! Maybe we'll get more reviews out of you now!!!

Yea, Bendis confirmed it takes place after WWH. He also confirms a bunch of artists he's working with for the upcoming New Avengers issues.
